Humans may disguise themselves for laughs, criminal activity, or Halloween candy, but animals have a more basic reason for camouflage: to not get eaten. Thus there is a caterpillar that looks like a bird dropping and a snake that, when faced with its predator, fakes a death scene complete with convulsions, false spilled innards, and a 'death stench.' If parents are unlucky, this tape may give Junior some ideas for next October 31, but if they're lucky, the kids will learn some basic truths about what it is to be an animal. Footage includes that camouflage master the chameleon being outwitted by insect prey playing leaves and twigs and the breathtaking images of a snowshoe hare narrowly escaping two wolves in the snow. --Kimberly Heinrichs

A great educational film for kids and adults. Highly entertaining and worth watching again and again. I reccomend this film to anyone who loves animals.
