In this movie, 12 year old Christopher works hard on the struggling family farm, but can't seem to do enough to satisfy his demanding father. Dad comes to get drunk (again) with a couple of his drinking buddies in town and picks a fight with an upright, decent feller named Frank Chase, who accidentally kills Chris' father in self defense. MY WHOLE FAMILY LOVED THIS MOVIE. WE RANGE FROM 3 YEARS OLD TO 34. IT IS SO WELL WRITTEN AND PLAYED, YOU FEEL YOU ARE THERE. IT IS ONE OF THOSE MOVIES YOU DON'T FORGET AFTER SEEING. WE HAVE WATCHED IT SEVERAL TIMES, AND IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING WE ALL WATCH TILL THE END. IT'S UPLIFTING AND MOVING AND SAD AND HAPPY. THE ENDING WAS GOOD. YOU HOPE IT ENDS THIS WAY AND THEY DID NOT LET US DOWN. WATCH AND ENJOY A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE. REALISTIC AND YET TIMELESS STORY LINE.
