Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Though marketed as a raunchy teen sex comedy à la Porky's, Just One of the Guys is an amusing and well-acted comic riff on gender roles. Believing that she's lost a journalism contest because she's a woman, high school student Joyce Hyser disguises herself as a boy in order to see how the other half lives. Her investigation leads her to discover some interesting truths about how men and women treat each other in social and romantic situations. The screenplay by coproducers Jeff Franklin (a veteran TV scribe) and Dennis Feldman nicely balances the sex-driven gags with more character-driven material, which is well delivered by Hyser, Clayton Rohner as her eccentric pal, and especially Billy Jacoby as her perpetually aroused brother; the capable cast also includes Sherilyn Fenn and Arye Gross. Eighties music fans should also appreciate the soundtrack, which features tracks by Berlin, Lindsay Buckingham, and the Stooges. --Paul Gaita

Rating: - Classic
I love this movie, it was one of my favorites growing up and I still love it to this day!
Rating: - inane and banal
if you do not know what banal and inane mean, you might like this movie. it is for those less mentally gifted, lacking in social skills...totally predictable, boring to the nth degree and infantile.
if you were to watch this with one of your kids, you would as ricky would say, 'lucy you have some splaining to do'. it in that arena would be totally embarassing. showing this to a young girl child of yours would make you want to buy a chastity belt for her eyes and ears.

Rating: - A so-so Movie
I bought this w/out having ever seen it and now I regret it. I will never watch it again due to the fact that is was BORING to say the least! I love 80's movies but this is no Weird Science/16 Candles/Pretty in Pink. I did not laugh not one time or even smile! And the little horny brother got on my last nerve. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.
Rating: - What A Horrible, Horrible Movie
Don't bother. I like bad movies but this was just terrible. The acting is a joke. Joyce Hyser in particular hammed it up as a girl pretending to be a guy in order to be a reporter. The movie is riddled with poorly executed cliches and ridiculously improbable behaviors/situations. Sounds good, I know. I normally love 80's movies, but this was just bad. If you really feel a need to watch this, make sure you aren't paying much for it. I regret the $4 I spent on this atrocious film.
Rating: - Classic! Very fond memories =)
I'm a product of the 80's & love everything about it from music, to cartoons, and to the movies. I'll always love She-Ra & Jem & The holograms. This movie was so funny to me growing up & has only gotten better with time. I am not going into full details but Terry is a girl who wants to be a writer for a paper. Her article gets turned down & a guy was picked as the winner. She decides to dress up as a guy, attend another school to prove a point & submit the same article but as ... Read More
