Rating: - Top class movie
Great movie, quirky, avante garde, enjoyable, fun. If you liked Marianne Sagebrecht in "Bagdad Cafe" you'll love this movie. And Brad Davis looks great in boxers. It's great to see the battler triumph over consumerism, even though it's a fantasy. Also to see a family share a common interest and pull together is heart warming, even if it is shopping channel that gets them off.
Rating: - A funny satire!
The same team of Bagdad café strikes again in this very clever and incisive portrait around a family in Arkansas and a woman whose obsession and motive of happiness resides in shopping. A delirious and unforgettable picture full loaded of black humor impregnated of bitter taste.
Rating: - "Baby wants to . . . buy."
The first half of Rosalie Goes Shopping reminds me of a David Lynch film - - full of freaks and fantastic settings - - but without the depravity. And freak movies need some depravity, otherwise you can't sympathize with the freaks. A family full of half-Bavarian, half-American children who are, at the very least, slow, need a bit of the old ultraviolence done to them so you can identify with them. But in Rosalie Goes Shopping love is all around. No need to waste it.

Rating: - Please release me...on DVD
An hilarious gem of a film. Truly inspired satire, skewering our bulimic consumerism, while projecting true family values. With all of the dreck, in multiple disc packages, that is released on DVD, why isn't there room for a great movie like this...or "Hot Millions" or "The Wrong Box?"
Rating: - Top Notch Adlon
One of several films from the writer/director pair, Percy and Eleanor Adlon, featuring Marianne Sägebrecht. As with others (Sugarbaby and The Baghdad Café) we are presented with quirky story and innovative cinematography.
Rosalie (Sägebrecht), the matriarch of Greenspace family is presented with the daunting task of maintaining the lifestyle to which her family has grown accustomed embarks upon a series of zany plots to keep the bill collectors at bay. These include emptying her children's ... Read More
