This is one of the greatest earthquake movies ever made! But I see this version is a cut-into-movie version. Here in the Netherlands I bought the 3 hour miniserie, which is very good.
Great SFX and a great suspense-building story, which isn't boring at any moment!

While it has many of the same problems that most disaster films do (greed, ambition, melodramatic subplots), THE BIG ONE is still a rather scary made-for-TV movie. I purchased this video after seeing the miniseries, and was very, very disappointed. My video was put out by VIDMARK Entertainment, and ran only 106 minutes. I will never buy anything made by them again. The miniseries was 3 hours long. I would also like to find the original uncut movie.
