Rating: - Exactly what kids should be watching
I was just a teenager when this program aired on PBS in 1993. Even at that age I truly enjoyed the music and wonderful performance given by P, P & M. As I was pondering what music from my childhood I wanted to share with my young child, I couldn't help but remember this performance. He is 19 months old and is captivated by the music and childlike emotion of the group. I feel so good about the message sent by this show that I allow him to watch a little almost every day. Rating: - 9 to 90, a hit for all ages
There is something for everyone on this wonderful video. Nostalgia and great music for those of us who grew up in the 60s, yet at the same time good clean entertainment for children, presented in a very positive, thoughtful, loving way. PP and M have aged gracefully and their kind and soft qualities make them great communicators with children, and what's more, while Mary Travers' voice is a bit harsh now, they can still sing and harmonize very very well indeed.
Rating: - A Must-Have!!
I first saw this on PBS when my boy was 3 months old and was astonished that it could captivate his attention for over an hour! I immediately bought the video and over six months later he watches it in FULL almost every day. Nothing can distract him. The combination of the beautiful harmonies, amazing songs and funny faces holds his attention like nothing else. Forget Baby Einstein. This is much more fun and inspiring. And what's more is that I'm still enjoying it.
Rating: - Excellent for Family and those who remember the 60's folk
My wife and I ( children of the 60's) first saw this program during a PBS fund drive in 1993. It was so enjoyable/moving we ordered a copy for our grandaughter and her family. We continue to enjoy it today in 1999.
