Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Clifford the Big Red Dog and some of his friends take you on a fun-filled musical adventure. The home viewer is invited to participate in the singing, dancing, and clapping as well as making up their own verses to such childhood classics as 'Old McDonald Had a Farm,' 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat,' and 'I've Been Working on the Railroad,' to name a few. Clever animation is effectively mixed with live action; young children will have a good time watching and participating in this video again and again. Fourteen songs in all. (Ages 3 to 8) --Peggy Maltby-Etra

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - even my kids are less than thrilled
We found this video at our local library, and my twins wanted to check it out because it was the only Clifford title on the shelf that day. The first time we put it in, they looked at me askance when the cartoon Clifford suddenly became a guy in a dog suit. Not what they were expecting. (I had read the back of the case, however, & knew what I was in for.)

I could set aside the poor production and even the false feel of the acting if they would at least get the words to the songs ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A cool video, doesn't really show the entire alphabet
This is a cool video. I liked the detail about a desire to go to the circus. I used to have letter hunts for the letters I needed to make messages(like in the video). But it doesn't show every letter of the alphabet. In the current PBS TV series, the theme song, setting, backdrop, and character voices have obviously been modified from that in this video. Why? Everything was perfectly fine the way it was, and why did they give a completely different cast? Oh, well, at least I've seen this video!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Big Red Dog Is Big Red Fun For Kids!
My sons greatly enjoy the adventures of Clifford! I give this video 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is beginning to show it's age but it is still quite entertaining and educational.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Kids Love This!
I can understand how parents might think this video is a bit hokey, but my kids absolutely love it. My one year old daughter claps, dances and is just mesmerized by this video. My almost-3 year old son likes it a lot too. He tried to copy all the dance moves and sings a little with it. I think it's great because they love it so much.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The kids love it - they sing and dance along.
I am a child care provider and the children in my care have requested this participatory tape over many years as a first choice. It has been bumped off the top of the chart recently by the Wiggles which is equally or more obnoxious from an adult view point. The children aged 1-5 years dance and sing to the many traditional tunes in this tape. I was actually dissappointed in the animated PBS tape and am searching for another Clifford tape which is participatory before the Wiggles drive me mad! A new ... Read More
