Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Looks like TRASH next to the other meoldies...
The one star is for Judy Garland and Eleanor Powell. They try their best to hold up this mess, but alas, they do not succeed. The movie would be perfect if it was only a revue. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - That Broadway Rhythm!
Broadway Melody of 1938 is the third movie in the Broadway Melody series. It stars Eleanor Powell (the Broadway Melody girl, she appeared in three of the movies), Robert Taylor, George Murphy, Buddy Ebsen, Sophie Tucker, and a very young Judy Garland in her first movie role. This movie has a very little plot but the music is alright. Anyway the movie is about some people wanting to star on Broadway. Well one day on the train Robert Taylor finds Eleanor Powell dancing and he wants her for his new show. Well the ... Read More

Every performer was a big star, at the time it was released, ensuring much more audience excitement and appreciation than we might find, today.

THE PLOT is loosely based around the story of Seabiscuit, the famous racehorse who overcame prejudice, injury, and a form of horse depression, to run races faster ... Read More
