Fright Night was a movie that I honestly felt ended on a pretty solid note, by that I mean that there really wasn't a need for a sequel. Nevertheless, out came Fright Night 2 just a few years later in 1989, and as you can guess it didn't quite live up to the original Fright Night.
The storyline here is not unlike wet card board: Flimsy, unstable, and weak. After a few years of therapy, Charlie has overcome his fears and paranoia, at least enough to start a new life for himself in college. ... Read More

Great sequel.
How this one is similar to the previous one...
A head vampire moves into town and finds itself at odds with Charley Brewster and his vampire killing buddy, Peter Vincent. Charley, Peter and his girlfriend are again working together to kill the vampires and monsters.
In the end a beam of sunlight saves the lives of Charley and his friends.

Usually the "unplanned" sequel of a hit movie suck inasmuch as the producers found an unexpected hit and try to shake the money tree for a bit more.
This is not true for Fright Night part 2. The sequel (based on the surprise hit of 1985) has a well thought out and believably based plot (at least for a vampire tale) and story line.
