Rating: - Both Sides Are Bad Shots
This is the first serial William Witney directed at Republic without his usual associate John English. Witney was just back from WWII, and English had gone on to other things, so Fred Brannon entered the picture. Brannon had been at Republic just a year (his first serial was "The Purple Monster Strikes"). His career at Republic consisted of 8 serials and 10 westerns from 1945 to 1953, ended by his death just short of his 52nd birthday.

This was the best of the old Republic Serials. Even younger audiences will enjoy this timeless classic. I wish it would come out on DVD.
Rating: - To color or not to color?
The Crimson Ghost is a great serial, with plenty of car chases, weird science and classic Republic fight scenes with lots of broken furniture. I like the color version but wish it had not been edited.
It seems like colorizing companies always cut and chop the movies they colorize, maybe to try and get the copyright by
