Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Ushering in the age of the inferior sequel, Jaws 2 was essentially a license to print money. Indeed, the film did very well despite blatantly replicating the plot of Steven Spielberg's original, though to lesser effect. Roy Scheider returns as Martin Brody, sheriff of the small island town of Amity. Just as the beachside resort is rebounding from the previous movie's shark attacks, another great white is snacking on divers and water-skiers. Naturally, the town fathers don't want to confront reality and choose to proceed with a lucrative sailing regatta, resulting in a grisly loss of life. Besides the fact that director Jeannot Szwarc takes an impersonal, workaday approach to the film, Jaws 2 manages to be both stylistically flat and openly cynical about its commercial intentions. Of chief interest here is Scheider's performance, which wisely reflects the emotional fallout from Brody's last trauma in his obsessive behavior here. --Tom Keogh

Not as good as the first one, but worth watching. I am starting to root for the shark.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not as good as the original.
Jaws two is ok, just not great.
The shark is still cool, but it's basically the first movie remade poorly.
The script is ok, the acting is ok.
All in all it's not a must see.
If you liked one, you may want to rent this one.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST, BUT CLOSE .
Roy Scheider is back as police Chief Martin Brody of the small town of Amity to hunt down another killer great white shark minus his sidekicks Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw. It appears another great white has made it's way into Amity to wreck havoc on the small town and scare away the summer tourists that the town relies on for it's summer dollars. As usual , once it's become quite clear to Chief Brody that there's another great white to deal with he confronts the mayor Larry Vaugnn( Murrey Hamilton) ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Scarier than the first
Nearly 10 years before I was born, there was a shark terrorising the cinema audience. Three years later (and still I wasn't around) a second shark came back to make sure we didn't dip a toe in the ocean.

Thirty plus years on from the first movie, it makes me terrified to even think about going near the ocean. (And I like beach holidays.) Jaws 2, not the best movie to watch on a bright sunny day, but it certainly passed the time. I did feel that it could have been edited slightly better, even ... Read More
