I loved this highly original chapbook, which brilliantly encompasses big themes. What links the poems is art--or rather the arts. Unlike the usual poem based on a work of art, these do not lean on someone else's creation, but spring from life's raw material. Sometimes the author employs a finished composition, a painting by Bellini or O'Keefe, for example, as a springboard for her enigmatic imagination.
