Product Description:
Many historians know that over two million people of the Soviet Union served on the German side during World War II. What most do not know is that 12-15,000 Russians- all ex-Czarist era members of the defeated White Russian Armies- now emigres, fought on the German side against the Tito partisans in Yugoslavia during the war. For the first time, their story is detailed in text, maps, tables, and extremely rare photos. The unit contained boys as young as 16 and old Czarist era soldiers as old as 70! They wore distinct uniforms and fought as one of the best anti-partisan units in the German arsenal.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Unfortunate review
I'd like to report that Antonio J. Munoz is a respected author. However, he feels and exhibits the need to write unfair, demeaning and unfounded reviews about competitive historical works in order to promote his own. With those kinds of tactics, what credibility and integrity can be invested into the works he produces? Sadly, not much.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - an excellent reference source!
I found this little booklet an excellent reference source for a topic that cannot be found anywhere in English. The information itself is already scarce since even in russian there is only one book that was written by exiles in the 1960s. The book has a lot of fantastic rare pictures and some great maps. Considering that this fifty page booklet only costs $13, it's definately well worth your money. Don't listen to any criticism. What the booklet lacks in appearance it makes up for in content.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent
This small booklet is a concise yet accurate account of a little known episode is World War II. In fact, there is nothing available in the English language on this topic. The author, Antonio Munoz, has managed to write a clear and precise desciption. I found the maps, tables and extremely rare photos worth the price alone.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Scarce Information on a Little Known Subject
I have read "For Czar & Country" and while I agree that the book is more a professionally printed "booklet" I strongly disagree with the previous reviewer who gave the book "one" star. This is because the information on this topic is nowhere to be found in the English language and the author took the trouble to footnote everything, even listed a bibliography. The book also has maps, tables, orders of battle and a list of 11 extremely rare photos which I've never seen anywhere. Although the book ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A very poor "book"
I was very disappointed in this "book." I write "book" within quotes because this flimsy thing consists of about 50 pages written in fairly large type--not worth your money even if you are a history buff particularly interested in the subject. This "book" contains many inaccuracies and errors, simplistic generalizations, and, in addition, is very poorly organized.
