Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Prion’s internationally bestselling Sex Lives series presents lighthearted accounts of the sexual escapades of major figures in history, politics, religion, the arts, and film. Irreverent and gossipy, the books are packed with carnal tidbits and eye-opening revelations. Power corrupts—absolute power is even more fun. Sex Lives of the Dictators is a look at the bedroom antics of the most powerful, and some of the most evil, men in history. Napoleon said 'Not tonight, Josephine,' but only because he was busy entertaining other women. Lenin returned to Russia in the closed train in 1917 with his wife and two mistresses, and Benito serenaded his conquests with a violin. And Hitler? Well, as you would expect, he was just plain weird. Five of his lovers committed suicide because of his questionable practices.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Like the Enquirer
I wouldn't say this book is a stomach-turner. Rather, it reads more like a salacious novel, or some daily celebrity mag... You read it and think to yourself - could that REALLY be true? It seems so gossipy in some spots you wonder. But, it is an interesting read. The parts on Mussolini and Napoleon do read very well, the parts on Hitler and Mao a bit over the top. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disgusting
Although I do not have a weak stomach, this book is one of the most disgusting books I have ever read. Especially the chapters on Mao Tse-tung and Hitler are repellent. The chapter on Mussolini is the only one that has some "funny" passages. Il Duce "rarely bothered with a bed, preferring to do it on the floor or against the edge of his desk. The act was perfunctory. He would not bother to take off his trousers or his shoes. The whole thing would be over in a minute or two." The book starts with ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Adds new meaning to men of power.
Did you ever picture Hitler as a great lover? Think of napoleon has someone women swooned over? Imagine Castro as a playboy? Well then you might want to take the time and read Nigel Cawthorne's Sex Lives of the Great Dictators.

Take a look at what men of power did to make women come at their beckon call. See how the powerful and ruthless tyrants controlled the fairer sex. Read about the exploits of those who ruled with an iron fist, but in private were all together different.
