Rating: - Astonishing - Given Who Wrote It
This is an astonishing work - given that it was written five hundred years ago by Thomas More, a rich Catholic and later Lord Chancellor.
Thomas More begins his tale autobiographically and relates how he meets a traveler called Raphael who is highly educated in Greek language and literature (who is, in other words, a humanist). Rating: - $2.39 for a book from the 1500s?
Assuming copyright law hasn't gone totally haywire since I last checked, Amazon is asking money for something in the public domain. This book is almost 500 years old. It belongs to the culture at large. So what does this $2.39 cover? Packaging and distribution? Can't be. This is a digital copy so there are no associated costs.
