Product Description:
When you think of all the strange things that have happened in your life, you tend to say 'It just can't get any stranger than that.' That's what the people of Earth thought. It was always suspected there was other life out there and it had been suspected that the Earth had been visited in the past. It had! And by a race of people now coming to seek our help. Who would think that an advanced race would need the help of a civilization several hundred years, if not thousands of years younger. Less technologically advanced. Yet, the Andromedians had sent their ambassador to enlist the help of Earth in fighting off the chains of oppression from a domineering race known as the Laxtor's. Their arrival is a gold mine of opportunity for the people of earth. Advances in medicine are freely given along with the designs for a better aircraft, that fly not only in the atmosphere, but are capable of achieving orbit without burning the usual mix of chemicals. At least that's what they say...

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - An Interesting Read
The storyline of this book was wonderful. I am not normally a scrience fiction reader, but I found myself turning one page after another to see where the story was going. This book makes one think about what--or who--may be out there--and what their intentions may be. I would have liked to see a glossary included to help with the military terminology used, but was able to figure out the meaning enough to still enjoy the story!! This is a wonderful read, especially for avid science fiction readers.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Lots of action!
I'm usually not a fan of science fiction books, but this one held my interest from the beginning, probably because it sticks to the story and keeps you guessing about what will happen next.

The author's knowledge of military terms and procedures is obvious and makes the storyline ring true. The only thing I found myself wishing for more of in the story was romance, but that's just me!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Storytelling at Its Best
"A Stab in the Back" is a wonderful book crafted by a storytelling genius, Phillip Beebe. The plot was tight and intriguing, and the characters were real. I particularly loved the distinguishing trait between Andromedains and humans. It was a blast!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A very entertaining story
Author Phillip Beebe is a talented story teller. I found this book to be a real page turner. Beebe's familiarity (I'm guessing actual experience) with the military was evident, as the story is told from a military perspective, and the dialog was convincingly authentic and crisp. I would have given this book a four star rating at least, but I found the substandard editing to be a distraction as I read. I thought enough of the author's writing skills to contact him and discovered this was his first book, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Sci-Fic
When I first opened A Stab in the Back, I was skeptical. I wasn't a big fan of science fiction, even though I enjoyed it on TV. But once into the book, I found it exciting and intriguing. I forgot I was reading science fiction and just enjoyed the events that occurred.

Good job, Phillip Beebe!
