Product Description:
Professor Wormbog is missing a Zipperump-a-Zoo from his collection of beasts, so he sets off in search of one—a search that takes him all over the world.
If you open almost any of award-winning author/illustrator Mercer Mayer’s 250+ children’s books you’ll see dragons, cuddly monsters, wonderful creatures, and endearing critters. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mr. Mayer spent his childhood hunting lizards and snakes in the swamps by his home. During his teenage years, he lived in Hawaii where he attended the Honolulu Academy of Arts. He later received additional training at the Art Students League in New York City. Upon completion of his studies he set out with pen and ink to write and illustrate adventures he experienced as a child.

Rating: - One of the best children's books ever
My son received this book as a gift when he was about three and it soon became a favorite of both my kids. I was thrilled to be able to order a new copy when his daughter was born (I'd kept the original, which was a larger size, but it's pretty battered). I figured it would be years until she became interested, but she's 22 months old now and it's been her favorite book since she was about 8 months old. The drawings are exceptionally creative and rich with peripheral content that is endlessly fascinating ... Read More
Rating: - A Wonderful Mercer Mayer Book
I purchased this paperback book for my grandkids after having bought the hard cover for my own children many, many moons ago. This is a wonderful, colorful, lively book for most ages. The older the child, the more of the illustrations you can read. It held my 5-year old twin grandaughters attention beautifully. Personally, I prefer the hard cover edition. The pictures are bigger.

Very funny, exciting and encourages the imagination and sense of humor. The pictures are so much fun. My children and now my grandchildren love this book!
Rating: - Mercer Mayer's best
When my daughters were young, we read this book several times a week. The illustrations are great -- imaginative and detailed. The story is cute enough for kids, and fun for adults to read as well. I am purchasing several copies for great nieces and nephews as well as for an expected grandchild.
Rating: - Wonderful, Charming Book!
This was one of my favorite books when I was a child. As I got older, it was passed on to my sibilings, and when I worked with children, they all loved it. This book has it all: humor, adventure, great storytelling, and memorable characters.
If you are looking for a whimsical, fun book that's good for the whole family, this is it.
(If you're one of us, too, that's in your twenties and still getting a smile when you read of the adventures of Professor Wormbog... don't worry, I ... Read More
