Rating: - An Intelligent Collection of Eliot's Important Poems
Everybody, especially university professors, are always cramming `The Wasteland' down the throats of their students. I admit it is an important work & one of the best poems of the 20th but I much prefer `The Lovesong of J Alfred Prufrock.' The first two lines are famous, of course, but I much prefer the ending stanzas: Perfect for, say, a friend's 30th or 40h birthday:
`I grow old, I grow old
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled
