Product Description: When a girl bites off more than she can chew...
Laine barely has enough time for herself, much less for romance. But she's always hungry for more projects -- so she signs up to teach a cooking class at her local community center. As it turns out, the guy co-teaching the class with her, Seth, is not just cute, but downright delicious! When Seth offers her a waitressing job at his family's restaurant, Hype, Laine can't resist.
Just as Seth finally warms up to Laine, she finds out that Callie, another waitress at Hype, is cooking up a plan to steal Seth for herself. But tensions really reach their boiling point when Laine's restaurant critic mother writes a scathing review of Hype! Will Laine have to put love on the back burner again?

I agree completely with the reviewer before me. I have read every book in this series because they are quick fun reads. However, this one is drawn out for approximately 200 pages. Nothing occurs for chapters at a time and characters are underdeveloped even for this type of chick lit. Not because I'm expecting them to be any good, but because they're like literary candy, and they tide me over until the next one of my series books comes out. Still, this was one of the worst ones I've ever read, which is odd because my favorite one, "30 Guys in 30 Days," was also written by Micol Ostow. I realize the main character is really passionate about the culinary arts, but the constant food metaphors and puns were obnoxious rather than ... Read More

Sixteen-year-old Laine Harper is what you would call a Type-A personality. To the tenth power. She's also what you would term a serial flirter, batting her eyes at just about any spicy male specimen who happens to glance in her direction. But this summer, as she embarks on her senior year, she has come up with one very, very strict rule, which she's going to follow to a T - no boys! But when she snags the perfect summer job - teaching a cooking class to a group of preteens, and learns that her teaching ... Read More
