Rating:  - Blah! Major Disappointment
As fan of horror/terror shorts of many years(having acquired all the Fontana and Pan paperbacks) I bought this on the glowing (overblown) reviews and find that they are not justified in my opinion,,,the stories are just okay (barely) some are overlong and drwan out and none serve to raise the hackles of fear as M R James, Robert Bloch or masterpieces of Robert Aickman...Guess I am just spoiled ??
Rating:  - Anthologies: Perfect for travel
I read the first anthology (Beneath the Surface) put out by this company (Shroud) and it was an excellent compilation. When I saw this book I decided to pick it up to take on vacation with me. Books with short stories are perfect for travel plus you get the exposure to multiple authors, a story buffet of sorts.
ABOMINATIONS is a well put together book of 17 short and (at times) disturbing stories.
