Editorial Review:
Product Description: The book tells two stories of Africa during WWII. The first is the history of the involvement of the entire continent during WWII and the second is the history of the beginning stages of the process of de-colonization that occurred in the year immediately following the war.
WWII in Colonial Africa goes in detail of the several wars fought in Africa and how they related to each other as well as the conflicts in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the surrounding oceans.
Also related in the book are the wartime experiences of the African people and how those experiences influenced the eventual de-colonization of the continent.

Rating: - Extensive information you won't find elsewhere
This book does a good job of summarizing ALL of the action in ALL of Africa during WWII. I found the information about the conflicts between Vichy French and Free French forces in the French colonial possessions to be very interesting. There is also a lot of information about the combat forces the Free French contributed to the Allies.
