I highly recommend this book to learn about the founder of the Mormon "church" and the history of the Latter-Day Saints.

Who's saying that the LDS church is "ashamed of Joseph"? The last time I checked, I and every other member of the Church that I know have fantastic and sincere testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Indeed, I can hardly turn the corner around the Temple Square Visitor's Center or the entire Square itself without seeing some wonderful display or portrait of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Rating: - What is Mormonism........ really?
I myself am not a Mormon....I do however find it a "hobby" to study various religions. The iratating thing about people is, is that as individuals, they continually condemn every religion besides their own as being evil and wrong! They never want to simply take an objective look at the facts and then decide! Rating: - Not for the Serious Researcher of Mormonism
The first two chapters of Ashamed of Joseph caused me to think that the authors truly had a heart for the misled Mormon people and were honestly concerned for their spiritual condition.
However, after the second chapter, it became vividly apparent that the book was written for the sole purpose to viciously and scathingly mock the Mormon founder and "Prophet". Rating: - Ashamed Of Joesph ( Finally a piece that hits reality)
Being once a member that walked out after seeing so much of the items described in this book, I find myself excited that this message would get out. Much luck Russia the LDS church is crumbling. Inside inactivity of the church is not publicised. A church that is in a identity crisis. It knows that it has been duped but it fears loosing the social connection coupled with the peer pressure. All Members should read this book along with a "New Approach to the Book of Mormon".
