Editorial Review:
Product Description: Young Curtis Carson doesn't mean to rip off the Chicanos on his backyard crap games. He just rolls the dice better. But Chicanos don't see it that way, and when one of their brothers is brutally slaughtered in a barroom shootout because of Curtis' dealings with heroin pusher Fat George, the Mexicans cry revenge on Curtis, leaving his brother with a wrecked body that will forever prevent him form being the basketball star he'd always dreamed of being. Curtis swears vengeance, and the streets run red with black-Chicano warfare!

Rating: - Revenge story with a twist ending
Goines brings us into the territory where tension between Chicanos and Blacks in a New Mexico ghetto runs deep. Don't be fooled by the cover because this is not a deep story about Chicano and Black racism towards each other. The story is ultimately a revenge tale set off by a single event. Rating: - Revenge is what was got
This book was revenge at its best. The ending made my stomach hurt, but the book is very good. You have to really pay attention, or you may get lost, because Goines has many characters doing all sorts of things during the story. There was a lot of hostility between the Blacks and Hispanics from the outset, and it escalated as the story moved forward. All in all, another piece by Goines which is off the hook.
Rating: - Wonderful, simple wonderful and heart rendering.
Donald Goines is an author before his time. This book is very interesting, as well, as all his other books. Nothing but non stop action. It's hard to put this book down.
