Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Is there anything scarier than clowns? Of course not. And who knows scary better than Stephen King? You see where we're going. It puts a malevolent clown (given demented life by a powdered, red-nosed Tim Curry) front and center, as King's fat novel gets the TV-movie treatment. Even at three hours plus, the action is condensed, but an engaging Stand by Me vibe prevails for much of the running time. The seven main characters, as adolescents, conquered a force of pure evil in their Maine hometown. Now, the cackling Pennywise is back, and they must come home to fight him--or, should we say, It--again. Admitting the TV-movie trappings and sometimes hysterical performances, this is a genuinely gripping thriller. As so often with King, the basic idea (the bond formed during a childhood trauma) is clean and powerful, a lifeline anchored in reality that leads us to the supernatural. --Robert Horton

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Logical (and other) problems with "IT"
I've got no problem with Stephen King. I read him like crazy back in the 80s and still admire him. The Shining, Salem's Lot, Misery, Carrie--all horror masterpieces of their era.

I'm also not a snob who can't appreciate a good horror flick, or even a "good bad" horror flick. Love the Living Dead movies, and all the old giant bug movies from the 50s.

But a horror flick, even a "good bad" one, has to make sense. It has to establish and follow its own logic to work. Actually, ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - IT DVD
This is a favorite movie of mine from Stephen King! With a great, twisting story, it will keep you at the edge of your seat to see what is coming up next! This movie is highly recommended to check out!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - One of the few movies I can watch multiple times
I can't even tell you how many times I've turned on the TV and found this movie on... I'd probably seen it ten times, but only once from beggining to end... and I still loved it each time I saw IT. I give it four stars though, just because the monster at the end is pretty lame... but hey, TV budget. Who cares? IT is still the shh IT.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - They all float down stream!
The first thing I said when I watched this movie was "Hey, Seth Green is in here!" Well actully I saw it awhile back but didnt notice Green was in this movie, probably because he wasnt a star then. Anywho, this is a great movie. The special effects are top notch, the cast is made up of all stars, and Tim Curry puts on a chilling performance as the killer clown. This movie does not have gore but it still delivers on the chills. It sort of reminds me of anther King novel turned movie, Stand by Me. Instead ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great!
I love this movie. I still remember when I first saw it. I was 9 years old, and it scared the crap out of me. I was so excited when it came out on dvd as it is one of my favorite movies. The only thing that could possibly give it one less star was the ending which was a little cheesy, but still I liked the overall so much I gave it 5 stars. I don't think you will be disapointed!
