Amazon.com: Everyone wanted to be like Mary Richards. Most of us felt more like Rhoda Morgenstern. But no matter which woman in the dynamic duo you related to, you'll relish this two-tape collection, Mary and Rhoda: The Very Best of Friends. The set includes five episodes that feature the two together (with just a dash of Phyllis thrown in), from the premiere episode in 1970, 'Love Is All Around,' in which the two duked it out over the same apartment, to 'Best of Enemies' in 1974, when Rhoda spills to the WJM staff that Mary lied on her job application about finishing college. Also in this set is '...Is a Friend in Need,' in which Mary proves that even she has a rotten streak as she sabotages Rhoda's attempt to find work in the newsroom. 'Some of My Best Friends Are Rhoda' has another woman coming between Mary and Rhoda. After Joanne rear-ends Mary's car, the two end up buddies, and Rhoda feels squeezed out of the picture. In 'Rhoda Morgenstern: Minneapolis to New York,' Mary goes into denial about Rhoda's imminent departure to go work for Bloomingdale's in the Big Apple. While no compilation of Mary and Rhoda could ever be enough, this set makes an admirable attempt and will be a valuable addition to the collection of any TV fan. --Jenny Brown

Rating: - Five Pleasing MTM Installments In A Two-Tape Set
This 2-Tape VHS boxed set (which comes packaged in a nice-looking, durable slipcase) was released by the "New Video Group" in the late 1990s. Included are five stellar examples of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", all highlighting the treasured friendship between "Mary Richards" (MTM) and "Rhoda Morgenstern" (Valerie Harper).
These two actresses had a very good chemistry on screen -- they truly seemed like lifelong friends throughout this series (before Valerie left the show and spun off ... Read More
Rating: - Mary and Rhoda in the Pilot Episode of MTM and more
This collection of five episodes from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" not only features five episodes focusing on Mary Richards and Rhoda Morgenstern, but it also worth having because it has the pilot episode of this classic sitcom. "Love Is All Around" (Episode #1, September 19, 1970), finds Mary getting a fresh start in Minneapolis when she ditches her fiance, moves into a new apartment and takes a job as associate producer of the WJM news show. Mary's interview with Lou Grant is the high point, ... Read More
Rating: - FUN
The MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW was brilliantly written and acted and this video is a MUST for anyone who appreciates the timing and chemistry between these two great performers! I thought Valerie Harper was sensational as Rhoda (talk about personality PLUS!) and she and Mary (who was reticent in comparison) contrasted very nicely and their many classic scenes together are timelessly hilarious!
