Editorial Review:

Product Description:
; Fascinating and controversial new perspective on Hitler's rise to power; Provides startling evidence of Britain and America's financial support for the Third Reich; Suggests that the western elite deliberately supported Nazism in the pre-war period to destabilise any alliance between Germany and Russia Nazism is usually depicted as an eerie German phenomenon, the outcome of political blunders and unique economic factors: we are told that it could not be prevented, and that it will never be repeated. Guido Giacomo Preparata shows that the truth is very different: using meticulous economic analysis, he reveals that Hitler's extraordinary rise to power was actually facilitated over the course of a decade following WWI - and eventually financed - by the British and American political classes. Tracing events in the Third Reich, Preparata offers a startling history of Anglo-American geopolitical interests in the early twentieth century. He explains that Britain, still clinging to its empire, was terrified of an alliance forming between Germany and Russia. He shows how Britain, through the Bank of England, came to exercise some control over Weimar and how Britain's financial support for Hitler enabled the Nazis to seize power. Nazism was not regarded as an aberration: for the British establishment of the time, it was a convenient way of destabilising Europe, and driving Germany into conflict with Stalinist Russia. In this way Britain ensured that it would prevent the formation of any rival continental power block. Guido Giacomo Preparata lays bare the economic forces at play in the Third Reich, and identifies the key players in the British and American establishment who aided Hitler's meteoric rise.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Adds a new meaning to "Clubbing It"...
When I ordered this book, I expected there to be some "occult" content to it; instead this is a book primarily concerning economic conspiracy and geopolitics. Preparata's premise is that Britain and America, the "seafaring powers", conspired to create the conditions for WW2, from the time of the Versailles treaty in 1919. They did this self interestedly, to prevent an alliance across the Eurasian land mass between Europe and Soviet Russia. The geo- political strategy was to encircle this Eurasian ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - 2 + 2 =5
This is the most fascinating and provocative analysis that I have so far read about the rise of Nazi Germany, and that's saying something! The meticulous dissection of the economic policies of the period is really amazing, and surprisingly relevant to the economic turmoil we are experiencing right now in 2008.
I have read an awful lot about the rise and fall of Nazi Germany over the last 2 or 3 decades, but nothing comes close to the breathtaking intricacies of the economics that helped pave ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Not another case for mere historical revisionism! Technocracy, Cryptocracy, and Theocratic Revivals, here?
Readers, there were important precedents regarding the analysis and interpretation by noted contemporaries of on-going historial events during the period of Hitler's rise to power in Germany.

No-one can dispute the fact that extremely powerful wealthy Western industrialists and financiers (Henry Ford, Rockefellers, et al) colluded with various powerful German families (Krupp's et al) to bring Hitler to power in Germany.

For a moment, forget that Italian author's seemingly ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Should be taught in Schools
A previous reviewer wrote that "the author's conclusion is rarely heard of in established circles, and should be taken with a lot of salt." The very reason to read this book is that the "established circles" at any point in history have a track record of consistently being "wrong" when viewed retrospectively. So it is dangerous to attach credibility to conventional wisdom as spouted by tenured scholarship....in almost any field or topic. Leave that to students who need to please their professors. It is ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The chess game of the 20th century
When one pulls back the shroud of time, and digs into documents from different viewpoints, commonly accepted facts are thrown into a different light. This book revisits the period of European history from 1900 to 1950, with an emphasis of 1920 to 140. The story told is of lies and deceit, of governments lying to people, and of governments lying to each other. The villians are England and the US, and the protagonist, though not the hero, is Germany. The point put forth is that the British Empire at the ... Read More
