Product Description:
Some secrets need to be told...

Still reeling from her mother's recent death, Karen Whitlaw is stunned when she receives a package containing a mysterious notebook from her estranged father, whom she has barely seen since his return from the Vietnam War decades ago. Then, a shocking phone call: Karen's father has been murdered on the gritty streets of New Orleans.

Even if they lead to murder....

For homicide detective Marc Chastain, something about the case of a murdered homeless man just doesn't add up -- especially after he meets the victim's daughter. Far from the cold woman he expected, Karen Whitlaw is warm and passionate. She is also in serious danger. A string of 'accidents' have shaken Karen to the core, and forced her into the protective embrace of the charming detective she vowed to resist. Together they unravel a disturbing storyof politics, power, and murder -- and face a killer who will stop at nothing to get his hands on her father's secrets.

Amazon.com Review:
Linda Howard's romantic suspense Kill and Tell supplies readers with plenty of thrills and chills. As a nurse, Karen Whitlaw has seen more than the average person, but even she isn't prepared to identify the body of the father she hasn't seen since she was 13. The local detective on the case, Marc Chastain, informs Karen that her father, who was homeless, has been murdered. Still grief stricken over the recent death of her mother, Karen isn't prepared to examine her feelings about her father and his absence from her life. She is willing to accept that he was the victim of street crime until her home is burglarized and she becomes the target for some frightening 'accidents.' Whoever killed her father is after her, and the only hope she has for discovering why must lie in the notebook that Karen's father mailed to her mother shortly before his death.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not one of Howard's best, but not bad overall
Karen Whitlaw is still recovering from her mother's death when she receives a mysterious package in the mail from her estranged father. A former Marine sniper, Dexter Whitlaw abandoned his wife and child after leaving the service, only to surface occasionally with his sexual and monetary needs. Karen has never felt close to her father, and when she receives word that he's been murdered in a street crime in Louisiana, her surprise momentarily outweighs her grief. Still, she answers the summons to come ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An excellent 'why are people trying to kill me' mystery.
I understood how Karen Whitlaw was feeling. While never been in a situation like that, it was close. To lose someone so close to you so quickly, then to lose someone who is supposed to be close to you soon afterwards would have anyone feeling as she felt. A brave woman, she uses her head, her instincts, and her fight for survival to get herself out of whatever situation she finds herself in.

Marc Chastain is one hell of a detective. It's very rare to read about a detective that uses and trusts ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another excellent romantic suspense novel.
It was a good thriller, interesting characters, good relationships, good plot and action. Definitely worth reading. Dexter was a Vietnam Vet who abandoned his wife and daughter after that war. He was killed. His daughter, Karen, went to New Orleans to identify and bury him. She met Marc, a detective and a romance began. The killer then started going after Karen. John Medina has a small but important part in this book. He is the main character in the next book: "All The Queen's Men." Sexual content: ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - She does it again!!
Lina Howard is great. I love reading her books and being taken out of the present and getting lost in another world. Each of her books are interesting and romantic. Who could ask for more?
