Editorial Review:
Product Description: The essays included are informal, accessible musings, not sanctimonious sermons. They are intended for anyone who wants to take time to consider spiritual issues, regardless of his or her involvement in organized religion. The subjects addressed are universal: faith in God, forgiveness, appreciation of one's family, the fleetingness of time, the relationship between science and religion. Back Porch Faith will appeal to the growing number of people who have come to feel that spirituality is not simply the province of their own particular denomination or sect. Any thoughtful person, whether Christian, Jew, Buddhist, or other, will feel engaged and enriched by the words found here.

Rating: - Vapid
This was one of the most insipid inspirational writings I have ever reviewed. While small portions of it was humorous, most of this book I found dull and apostic.
Rating: - Comfort and challenge
I stumbled on this book in Lexington in a vacation several years ago. It is so uplifting that I also read more than each week's chapter at once and come back to it over and over again. It's one of the few books I moved to Washington from Alaska....
Rating: - great book
thoroughly enjoyed this. I found all of the daily meditations very insightful and motivational. highly recommended.
Rating: - A must-have for your nightstand
Back Porch Faith is fabulous. Especially after a trying day, I pick it up and read an essay or two (or 10) and regain my perspective. Many of Prather's conversational essays contemplate our strengths and weaknesses in raising children; Week 35 is one of the most touching. This book is worth the price of admission.
