Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If I Were in Charge...
I'd give every family a copy of this book. It's now a read-aloud favorite of a 2nd generation - eliciting the same giggles and groans it did when first published.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Judith Viorst is Timeless
This book is a handy tool if you are a substitute teacher or a room parent. The poems lend themselves to creative writing exercises for students of all ages. Even though the book is a bit dated, the poetry speaks to the basic truths of children that we all can identify with, young and old.
