Rating: - Best WWII Biography for Young Readers
Move out of the way Anne Frank, this book takes WWII and the Holocaust to a heroic new level. I read this book with my students every year when they study the holocaust. This is a great book about a brave Jewish girl, Hannah Senesh grew up in Budapest while Hitler's influence. She was a good and hardworking student when she was young. She left her home when she was 18 and moved to Palestine to study. Later in 1943, she joined the British Air Force to rescue Allied pilots and Jews, include her mother. At last, she was captured by the Nazis during a missions and was executed. After i read this book, i felt that Hannah Senesh was brave, and i felt sad to her execution.
