Product Description:
Centering on babies and a mother’s love, Lily Wang’s Baby Haiku combines the essence of Eastern and Western poetics to portray the profundity of life and joy. No more than five lines, Haiku is the poetry that fits today’s lifestyle and is perfect for new parents that aspire to read but are short on time. Short and concise, Baby Haiku allows the mind to experience Zen, life, and abundance.

Baby Haiku helps to cleanse the mind and brings about a return to innocence. Wang’s poems focus on the positives and remind us that children are far more powerful than they appear:

“Don’t be fooled by their small sizes
The stars at night
Have the gigantic cosmos condensed into light”

Wang compels you to look at your life differently and appreciate your blessings. Discover harmony with all beings and find peace within your soul with Baby Haiku.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - NOT HAIKU
I was looking into this book, because I am a haiku poet myself, so I read several comments and poems that readers have sampled. These may be fine poems, but they do not meet any requirements to be considered haiku. The first and foremost component of a haiku is that is is brief (17 or fewer syllables). My problem with this is the false claim that these are haiku poems. There is already enough confusion out there without this!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Comfort and therapeutic reflection.
Upwards of 80% of all new mothers experience some degree of postpartum depression. By taking a few moments to read through the 52, three line formatted, haiku poems comprising Lilly Wang's very highly recommended "Baby Haiku" poetry collection, any new mother experiencing the 'baby blues' can find comfort and therapeutic reflection. The poetry is thoroughly 'reader friendly', contemporary, and focused upon having a new baby, celebrating the bonding of a mother to her child, and applying an Asian ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a beautiful book anyone will cherish.
The haiku structure doesn't inhibit Lily Wang from creating beautiful images filled with love, wonder, emotions, and transcendental spirituality. This is a beautiful book of memories that anyone will cherish.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - NOT A WORD WASTED
I have been teaching Haiku workshop for a long time. Wang's book is a real treat to her readers. Crisp, intense and often ends with a surprise and a lesson. 3 lines are very simple yet difficult poem to write: you need depth in a glimpse. Wang has made the difficult art with simple mastery by creating a unity of three worlds: world of nature, world of divinity and world of human. Throughout her work, not a single word is wasted.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Baby haiku
I don't generally like haiku, but I found these poems to be easily accessible by the normal reader with its use of everyday language. Her poems beautifully express what it means to be a first-time mother as well as addressing fatherhood and becoming a sibling. The unique cover as well as the moving poems makes it a great gift!
