Rating: - A book with Substance
Very interesting reading the latest reviews of this book, and for the most part I must disagree. I think part of the problem for some peope, and I agree with a poster a few reviews down, is that most authors explain too much to the reader too soon. Not the case with this book, thankfully.
This is one of my all time favorite reads. I first read it the year it was published in 1994, and have read it several times since. My old copy was so beat up, I recently bought a new one.

Rating: - Often considered one of her best, but not by me
I opened this one, having read in several places that it's one of her best. It's not. It plods along so slowly that I seriously considered tossing it several times. This is almost more a story about the Canadian wilderness than the two lovers. They rehashed the same territory in their relationship repeatedly. Joey's major goal was finding her parents. She does, with Luke's help, and then a few tears and quiet moments, and it's over. She's all better, time to move on. So unrealistic emotionally. Also ... Read More
Rating: - Excellent Shapeshifter Romance!
I find myself confused after reading some of the extrememly negative reviews of this book.
I read a TON of books, particularly romance (hey, you haven't lived 'til you've lived vicariously!) and I found Prince of Wolves to be extremely refreshing. The descriptions of the landscape were lush and vivid, and the romance was allowed to develop gradually enough so that it didn't seem feigned or unbearably cheesy. I found the character development to be strong, and any ambiguity of motives was ... Read More
Rating: - Boring, boring, boring...
Seriously, this book is dull it just goes on and on about nothing. There is some major fear or problem that is alluded to if the characters were to get together romantically, but it is never really explained. I got a little over half way through and just couldn't waste any more time on this. I've never abandoned a book and most romances take me no longer than a day to finish, but after 2.5 weeks I just couldn't force myself to read anymore. If you like paranormal try vampires with Christine Feehan - those ... Read More
Rating: - Contemporary werewolf romance
Joelle Randall goes to the Canadian rockies to confront her past, to find the place where her parents disappeared in a plane crash accident years ago. There she meets Luke Gevaudan, a mysterious man who is shunned and feared by the locals. Luke is a French Canadian and is also a werewolf. He's a loner and lives by himself in a cabin high up in the mountains. Joelle hires him to guide her through the rockies to find the crash site. During their trip, Joelle slowly finds herself attracted to Luke, despite his ... Read More
