Rating: - A Companion for a fervent Handelian
Lang's book on Handel provides a sympathetic and detailed biography of the great composer and analytical summaries of his major works that takes the careful listener to new depths of understanding and appreciation of Handel's beautiful music.
As an ardent Handelian, I have read many books on Handel, but it is to Lang's work that I return repeatedly. He responds to Handel's work as I do, and his book, "George Frideric Handel," is worthy of being a life-long companion.
