Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Well organized and helpful!
From Action to Youth, "A Dictionary of Quotations" is a very accessible and easy to use book with over 3,000 Shakespeare quotes on over 400 subjects. Each section is printed in bold making it easy to flip through the pages to find a favorite passage. The exhaustive index is also helpful. Recommended for English majors or anyone who enjoys literature!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Gateway to unlocking the Bard.
I bought this book as a "gateway" to understanding Shakespeare. We have these long scripts we are reading, these five act plays written in an indented poetic Elizabethan English, sometimes verbose. And our English teachers wonder why it is so hard to understand the Bard.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Practical Guide to Shakespeare Quotations
All you would expect, this book does just what it says it will--- it is a guide to quotations from Shakespeare. The book is set up alphabetically by subject and it includes many topics from fatness to jealousy. While you would probably need at least a cursory understanding of some plays to use the quotations properly, the author does a nice job of making comments and synopses when necessary. This book is very easy to use. I recommend it to anyone who is an avid reader of Shakespeare, or a student of English ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Typical Shakespeare reference
This book, while categorized nicely by subjects like guilt and optimism, was not quite as helpful as I had hoped. Those who compiled this book seemed to stretch the limits regarding how relevant each quote was to a subject. It's a nice reference to have if you just like Shakespeare, but don't expect to buy this book and easily find a quote that will be appropriate for a speech or paper.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Quotable Shakespeare
I was given this book as a gift from a friend who knew I was about to take a Shakespeare class and it really helped out a lot.
