Product Description:
This brand-new mystery series spins a yarn about knitters and murder in a quaint seaside village.

Not long after Isabel “Izzy” Chambers opens up a knitting shop in the sleepy fishing town of Sea Harbor, Massachusetts, a diverse group of women begins congregating each week to form the Seaside Knitters.

Izzy raises some eyebrows when she rents the apartment above her shop to Angie Archer, whose reputation for loose behavior and a quick temper has made her unpopular with many locals. But could any of them have wanted her dead? Angie’s body is discovered drowned in the harbor, her long red hair tangled like seaweed in a lobster trap.

An official investigation rules the death an accident. There are speculations of too many whiskey sours, a slippery wharf, a dark night… But Izzy and the Seaside Knitters smell something fishy. When several strange incidents occur above the shop, the women decide to take matters into their own hands. But before long, their small-town sense of security is frayed, and the threat of more violence hangs over this tightly knit community.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An amazing new series
A friend told me I would like this book. She was wrong--I loved it!. The four knitters are well-drawn, the mystery intriguing, and the seaside town one I want to live in. I thought the author's approach to a series was definitely a cut above the others I've read. And the writing style is accomplished and careful. As a librarian, I read many books, and found this one to be better written than many other cozy mystery series. The twists and turns in the story surprised and pleased me. I didn't know ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great start to a cozy series
Death by Cashmere is the first in Sally Goldenbaum's Seaside Knitters series (she is also the author of the Queen Bees Quilt mystery series), and it's a lovely introduction to Sea Harbor, Massachusetts and the knitting group that meets in Izzy's shop. This charming story begins after Izzy has moved back to Sea Harbor, abandoning her law career to open a knitting shop. Her aunt Nell, Nell's elderly friend Birdie (a hoot!), and lobsterwoman Cass get together one evening a week to share food, gossip, ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Too Many Characters
The author introduces too many characters. I'm a big Cedar Cove fan where there are multiple families and crisis' happening but it's easy to follow. In this book, before I finished chapter one, I had a list of characters to remember. Too much work for a cozy! I read about 100 pages and tossed the book aside.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A Disappointment
Knitting is my passion. I read cozy mysteries - a lot of them - for enjoyment. This book had promise but the pedantic writing style and heavy-handed dialogue nearly made it unreadable. The characters, though likeable, were not as interesting as they could have been had they been given real voices and fully-flesh personalities. The author seems to have a very strange obssession with tuna as that appears at many, many meals. I will not be reading anything else in this series.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - NOT GREAT, BUT OK
I HAVE READ ALOT OF KNITTING MYSTERIES AND THIS ONE DOES NOT RANK ABOVE THE BEST. TOO MANY CHARACTERS TO KEEP TRACK OF; HOWEVER, THE CONCLUSION TO THE STORY WAS WORTH THE LONG READ. TRY MAGGIE SEFTON AND DEBBIE MCCOMBER FOR GOOD KNITTING SHOP STORIES.
