The copy I have of this book is an original 1941 edition, it belonged to my daddy who would've been 11 when he got it for Christmas. I grew up with these stories of John Henry with his cheeks full of railroad spikes, Paul Bunyan with his bee-squitos and Babe the Big Blue Ox. My favorite by far was always Johnny Appleseed (he was never looking for a fight).
