Editorial Review:
Book Description: In The Last Uncle, Linda Pastan writes, 'If death is everywhere we look, / at least let's marry it to beauty.' The poems in this new collection deal with loss and the difficult transition between generations, but they are also about love and landscape and the many pleasures of the imagination.

Rating: - The Last Uncle
A beautiful book! Linda Pastan writes with skill, sensitivity, and a simplicity of style that is not simplistic but subtle. One of my favorite poets.
Rating: - I'D HESITATED BUT...
I'd hesitated to buy THE LAST UNCLE because I'd been very disappointed in CARNIVAL EVENING's "new poems". After it came out in paperback, I decided to take a chance and, with the exception of the second second, THE LAST UNCLE proves that Linda Pastan is still a master of metaphor and "a hundred small delights". Highly recommended.
