I use this quick reference book with all my orientees. It is my 'Nurses Merck Manual'. The question and answer format prevents TMI for the new ICU nurse.

This manual is a must for both the novice and expert ICU nurse. It is easy to find the answers to your question and detailed enough to expain complicated concepts.

As an experienced critical care RN, I have owned and read many cc books. This is by far the most practical and useful book out there. It is written in a question/answer format that makes it easy to read cover to cover as well as easy to refer to for quick reference. It gives excellent concise yet detailed rationale.
