Product Description:
Turn left at small town secrets...
Sophie Dempsey is content living a quiet life filming wedding videos until an assignment brings her to Temptation, Ohio. From the moment she drive into town, she gets a bad feeling; Sophie is from the wrong side of the tracks and everything in Temptation is a little too right. And when she has a run-in with the town's unnervingly sexy mayor, Phineas Tucker, making a little movie turns out to be more than a little dangerous.
Yield to oncoming desire...
All Sophie wants to do is film the video and head home. All Phin wants to do is play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. They both get more than they bargained for when Sophie's video causes an uproar and the proper citizens of Temptation set out to shut them down.
Welcome to temptation...
As event spiral out of control, Sophie and Phin find themselves caught in a web of gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, and really excellent sex. All hell breaks loose in Temptation as Sophie and Phin fall deeper and deeper in trouble...and in love.
Amazon.com Review: Prepare to be absolutely charmed by Jennifer Crusie's riotous tale of two slightly twisted sisters and a town chock full of hunks, coots, and petty politics in Welcome to Temptation.
Sophie and Amy Dempsey are just two wedding filmers trying to hop to the next level of their careers when they agree to produce a documentary of aging film star Clea Whipple's return to her hometown of Temptation, Ohio. And when the local mayor, Phin Tucker, and the police chief, Wes Mazur, proffer themselves as willing subjects for quick flings, Sophie and Amy aren't the type to object. But things are never easy in rural Ohio, and what starts off as an esoteric art film project soon evolves into potential porn--and that's just the relationships, let alone the documentary. Clea's husband Zane turns belly-up, the race for mayor turns dirty, and Sophie and Phin turn on the heat full steam.
With hot sex, clever characters, and Crusie's trademark wit, Welcome to Temptation will keep your eyes glued to the page and your stomach aching with laughter. --Nancy R.E. O'Brien

Rating: - One of my top 2 by Jennifer Cruise
One of my top picks by Jennifer Cruise, with the other being "Anyone but You".
Set in a small town in Southern Ohio (named "Temptation") where 2 sisters (with a con-man for a father) and a has-been actress Clea, come to film a short movie of questionable content. Sophie's the older(age 32), uptight, responsible sister who raised her younger sister Amy, age 25 and is still taking care of her. Sophie catches the attention of the Phin, the mayor and local bookstore owner, who seems ... Read More
Rating: - Didn't like this, will try again with Bet Me
This was my first Jennifer Crusie book and I was really disappointed. There was no romance or tension in the book. The story itself was not interesting or believeable. Please don't waste hours reading this book. I'm going to give Jennifer Crusie another chance with her highly rated book, Bet Me. I was disappointed with this one.
Rating: - And What a Warm Welcome It Is
This is the first book I ever read by Jenny Crusie. I am SO GLAD that I picked it up! I've read everything of hers that I could get my hands on, and am looking forward to "You Again," "Charlotte," "Dogs & Goddesses;" "Always Kiss Me Goodnight;" and "Wilde Ride."
Phin Tucker, his daughter Dillie, and Liz his mother. Sophie Dempsey, Amy her sister, and Davy her (hot, hot, hot - though not to Sophie - See "Faking It" for Davy's story) brother. Add Wes Mazur, the Chief of Police, Clea ... Read More
Rating: - Never Finished It
I was disappointed with this book. I usually enjoy Crusies' light-hearted humorous stories. I read about a hundred pages and then just put it down and didn't care. The plot was weak and the characters shallow. This is not a romance at least not my kind-just lusty sex with no real appeal.
Rating: - I'm in the minority.....
After getting my first review of this book rejected by Amazon because it made "judgements" on the authors intent, I'm going to attempt to scale this one down in attempts to review this book that I spent hours reading.
I realize that this book is very popular and well received by a great many. That however, is not enough to make me recommend this book. I am not critical by nature, (see my other reviews), but I do like to "call a spade a spade"!
This is a story about the town ... Read More
