Editorial Review:

Product Description:
This book analyzes the process by which class society developed in post-revolutionary France. Carol E. Harrison addresses the construction of class and gender identities, and shows how the sociable interaction of male citizens was the crucial bridge between the destruction of France's old regime and the development of a mature industrial class society.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Bourgeois Citizen
A great book that she skilfully complies about the Bourgeois citizens in 19th century France. She goes into great detail about who they are, what defines them, and how they contribute and define French society as a whole. She gives a lot of good examples, pays a lot of attention to details, and how France is transformed from the old ways of Europe and into a more industrial one with the use of emulation.
