Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - very well explain text
This book is excelent for those who want to learn all the basics of zoology. Is the latest vertion (for now). it has great pictures, detail information and a full section of different chapters dedicated to the different filumnes there is.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Hated this book!
I will begin by saying that I'm a pharmacy major, not a bio major. I wouldn't reccommend this book for a non-bio major. Don't let the title fool you; this book is packed full of information, 99% of which is USELESS! It seems like the authors tried to include miniscule detail imaginable. It is not uncommon to find 4 bold words (bold=important, supposedly) in a SINGLE SENTENCE! This makes it very hard to filter the useful information from the useless. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - revisionists make it squeakie current
Excellent book. there are 38 chapters and I believe they extensively revamped and updated 37 of them. Get the most current edition, otherwise you will not have adapted as well as you could.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dense, but good
I bought this book for my Zoology 1 class, and found the book to be arranged in a logical manner with review material at the end of each chapter. Some of the material and explainations were dense and wordy, but overall I was highly please with the book.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Zoo Text
A very good book for the average college student in a zoology area. It covers the basic cell biology in the beginning, through meiosis. Then it proceeds up through single, and multi celled creatures, explaining the development, reproduction, adaptation and life cycles. The only downside is the price. between this book and the lab manual, the price will set you back somewhat.
