A wonderful "chick" book with heartwarming friendships. Very readable. I had read the Persian Pickle Club which was equally good. Great author.

Friendship Cake is the story of five women who participate in a cookbook committee for their church. As the facilitator of the group had hoped, they get to know each other and become better friends in the process of creating the cookbook. I found this book to be boring, shallow and unbelievable which explains why it was a quick and easy read. That the crises these women faced were resolved in one chapter each was so unrealistic, I cannot believe this book landed a National Bestseller title and received decent reviews among readers. Very dissapointing.

A lovely story that is simple and fun. If you would like a short tale that is heart warming and makes you understand the values that you hold throughout life in regards to friendship read this quaint story. Friendship Cake was a nice escape from the not so innocent books that we all read, just a real pleasent book.

I read the book to use for our church bookclub. I enjoyed this short novel more than I thought I would. I would definitely recommend it for a all women bookclub!!
