As CEO Coach, Poet and author of a book that helps leaders and people unleash their genius, I highly recomend this book and all of Warren's books. Of all those from academia that write about leaders Warren is the best. He combines research with a natural ability to lead. Of all the books I have read on leadership, I will have to put this one in the top five. Bennis and Nanus have masterly laid out the essential principles of leaders and have also substantiated them with poignant examples.
Their revision is greatly welcome by those of us who enjoy reading leadership literature.
I highly recommend this book.

Bennis and Nanus' book gives specific examples of the fundamental elements needed for both positions, beginning with strategies, the first of which is having a vision for the organization.
