Excellent book, but the Securities Markets chapter (six) is slightly dated, through no fault of the authors. The ECNs were taking tremendous volume away from the established exchanges. The exchanges reacted by increasing their electronic trading and by buying the competition. Currently two big mergers have taken place which will change the shape of the market place. The NYSE has merged with Archipelago and Nasdaq has merged with Instinet. Exactly what will result from these mergers is unclear ... Read More
